It’s the watch that was a concept watch launched in Basel in 2009. Things made possible by TAG Heuer, running on a concept belt-drive watch and powered by a oscillating linear weight that falls back and forth within the central shaft – transmitting the energy to the four ball bearing barrels. It’s another technology which TAG Heuer have patent on.
All part of the mechanical revolution in watchmaking where everyone is trying to reinvent the wheel – but this time with belts. This very first timepiece was presented to Leonardo DiCaprio by Mr Jean-Christophe Babin during their 150th anniversary celebration in Paris. Only 151 pieces of this are available in the market (150 left, deducting one which have already owned by Leo). It’s been circulated through the World wide web that this piece is priced at $80,000. By the way, Platinum is one of the many materials used to make this timepiece. It’s a great watch with modern designs running on a unique mechanical engineering behind the movement of time.
